truLOCAL is a monthly Canadian meat and seafood subscription company, connecting families and foodies across Canada to high-end, locally-sourced products from regional farms and butchers.



A great alternative to traditional meat shopping at grocery stores, subscribers can customize their truLOCAL orders from a fast-growing variety of fresh products. Their subscriptions are not only customizable, but also commitment-free, offering you the flexibility to skip, pause, or cancel at any time. To further optimize your culinary experience and elevate your chef status, each box includes tips and tricks for cooking your preferred meats.


truLOCAL started in 2008 with Mark Lafleur and Greg Quaile, two devoted entrepreneurs from Kitchener, Ontario. Mark and Greg wanted to connect people with easy access to quality, local meats while supporting their local communities.


One of the biggest turning points for the Kitchener company was in 2018, when truLOCAL appeared on CBC’s hit show, Dragon’s Den. Mark and Greg received multiple offers for truLOCAL, and ultimately struck a deal with Michele Romanow. Since then, the operation has expanded across Canada to Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia.
